Essential Jesus Reading Program: There are two Sunday school classes and two reading groups that will meet most weeks throughout the reading program to discuss the Essential Jesus readings. Those who wish to join a reading group may do so by signing up in the fellowship hall, church parlor, or church office.

Extraordinary Women Conference: All women are invited to attend the Extraordinary Women Conference at Cabarrus Arena in Concord, Oct. 26-27, 2018. The event will feature inspiring guest speakers and worship artists including Chonda Pierce, Liz Curtis Higgs, Angie Smith, and Jeremy Camp. Operation Christmas Child: Everyone is encouraged to participate in Operation Christmas Child this year by filling a shoe box with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for needy children around the world, through the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Empty shoeboxes and informational brochures will be distributed this morning, following First Praise and the 11:00 am worship service. Please help us reach our goal of filling 100 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. In addition to the small gifts, children also receive instruction in “The Greatest Journey,” where they hear the good news of Jesus Christ through discipleship classes. If you are unable to fill a shoe box, please consider donating money to help with shipping costs (suggested donation is $10 per box for shipping). Shoe boxes should be returned by Sunday, November 11.
Saints Alive Luncheon: The monthly Saints Alive luncheon ($5) will be held this Tuesday, October 16 in the fellowship hall. Activities will begin with coffee and tea at 10:30 am, with the program beginning at 10:45 am. This month's program will be presented by Jodi Rockness, who will provide information about Miriam Rockness' (Dave's mother) research and books about the life of Lilias Trotter, an artist and devotional author who spent over 40 years serving the Arab people in Algeria.
The Men’s Dinner: The Men's Dinner group will meet this Tuesday, October 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will have lasagna and will look Matthew 3 and what it means for the church to be faithful in an increasingly wild world.
